The results of the competition for aspiring designers, the Next Designer Award Empowered by Visa, have been announced

The young designer who emerged as the winner of the competition has been awarded a grant of $10,000 for the development of their own brand.

Молодой дизайнер, ставший победителем конкурса, получил грант на сумму 10 000 долларов на развитие собственного бренда.

Visa Fashion Week, the international fashion week in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, has revealed the outcomes of the Next Designer Award Empowered by Visa for emerging designers, which will now be held annually. On August 10, 2023, at the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, finalists presented their unique ideas and projects before an expert jury panel. Following the pitching session, the jury determined the following winners of the competition:

Международная неделя моды в Казахстане и в Центральной Азии Visa Fashion Week объявила об итогах конкурса для начинающих дизайнеров Next designer award. Empowered by Visa, который теперь будет проходить ежегодно. 10 августа 2023 года в Центральном Государственном музее Республики Казахстан финалисты презентовали свои уникальные идеи и проекты перед составом экспертного жюри. По итогам питчинга жюри определили следующих победителей конкурса:

1st place: Asel Shingisova, who receives a $10,000 grant from Visa to create her collection and free participation in Visa Fashion Week Almaty VIII.
2nd place: Aruzhan Qanatkizy, who is offered an internship opportunity at Rubelli Group in Venice, a Venetian family company specializing in luxury fabric creation, production, and sales.
3rd place: Akmaraal Zharaskyzy, who gains the opportunity for an internship at the event agency Fashion Bureau by Saken Zhaxybayev.
Victoria Nadeina, who receives a special prize granting her the right to showcase her collection in the FW'23 season by Saks Fifth Avenue Almaty.
- 1 место — Асель Шингисова получает грант на сумму 10 000 долларов от Visa на создание своей коллекции и бесплатное участие в Visa Fashion Week Almaty VIII;
- 2 место — Аружан Қанатқызы с возможностью стажировки в Rubelli group в городе Венеция, в Венецианской семейной компании, которая занимается созданием, производством и продажей тканей класса люкс.
- 3 место — Акмарал Жараскызы получает возможность стажировки в event-агентстве Fashion Bureau by Saken Zhaxybayev.
- Виктория Надеина получает специальный приз на право представить свою коллекцию в сезоне FW’23 от SAKS Fifth Avenue Almaty.

It's worth recalling that over 150 young designers from all regions of Kazakhstan applied for the Next Designer Award Empowered by Visa in the first stage of the competition. Among them, 10 finalists were selected, who prepared and presented their collections under the guidance of the General Director of Visa Fashion Week Almaty, Bauyrzhan Shadibekov. The final competition included talented emerging designers such as Tokhtar Seilbekov, Zagira Adilkhanova, Akmaraal Zharaskyzy, Bekzat Normatov, Asel Shingisova, Tamiris Madesh, Aruzhan Qanatkizy, Nargiza Makim, Gaukhar Mamytova, and Victoria Nadeina.

Среди них были отобраны 10 финалистов, которые подготовили и презентовали свои коллекциии под руководством генерального директора Visa Fashion Week Almaty Бауыржана Шадибекова. В финал конкурса прошли такие талантливые начинающие дизайнеры, как Тохтар Сейлбеков, Загира Адилханова, Акмарал Жарасқызы, Бекзат Норматов, Асель Шингисова, Тамирис Мадеш, Аружан Қанатқызы, Наргиза Маким, Гаухар Мамытова, Виктория Надеина.

The jury panel included renowned global fashion journalists, entrepreneurs, designers, and fashion experts. Among them were Eli Inoue, Japanese journalist for publications like WWD Japan and Elle Japan; Luca Rizzi, Director of Consulting at Pitti Immagine, head of the e-P Summit project; Zhanna Azimova, Founder and CEO of Azimut Interiors; Gaukhar Abykaeva, CEO of SANSI GROUP; Aizhan Tungushbayeva, Boutique Director at Bulgari; Bauyrzhan Shadibekov, General Director of Visa Fashion Week Almaty; Saltanat Begalіeva, Founder and Designer of the SLT brand; Saken Zhaksybaev, fashion producer, designer, and founder of the ZHSAKEN brand; Danara Usmanova, Commercial Director of Saks Fifth Avenue Almaty & VILED Style Astana. Participants were evaluated based on criteria such as potential, innovation of ideas, and the ability to apply project resources for future business development.
