In the State Museum of Arts named after A. Kasteev in Almaty the exhibition of unique 4-meter dresses of designers-participants of the Kazakhstan Fashion Week «The Great Silk Road» opened.

Work on the creation of amazing outfits took more than six months: from consultations of the organizing committee of Kazakhstan Fashion Week, the author of such a project in France Lamina M. before the concept and the embodiment of the Kazakhstan exhibition. As a result, the public is presented with an incredible in its philosophy and complexity of performing the exposition.

As noted by the PR-director of Kazakhstan Fashion Week, Botagoz Aldongarova: «Kazakhstan Fashion Week, inviting designers to take part in this project, appreciated the magnificent idea and the opportunity to show artistic ability. Before they created pret-a-porter collections, now they have embodied ideas, promoting Kazakhstan at the world level and contributing to the PR of the country. Each dress was created with a separate story. For one, cloth was ordered and delivered from France, and then in Kazakhstan it was signed, so the dress's embodiment lasted for several months. A patchwork of Camilla Kim is a canvas created from several hundred pieces: the foundation was lined, and then it was necessary to hide the seams. These are features that speak of the complexity of the technology of each work. But the most valuable is the ideas that each Kazakh designer has thought out and laid in the philosophy of the outfit. How will the idea of the dying Aral or Kazakh oil be embodied? Of course, it was not without discussions, disputes, recommendations, but this is a remarkable collective work that helped Kazakh designers to show themselves on a completely new level. And they are happy that they had such an opportunity. This is a wonderful experience; we are proud of the result and are sincerely glad that Kazakhstanis will be able to appreciate all the magnificence of works and to look at the usual events and things through the eyes of artists with a very subtle creative perception of the world».

Dress «Aral, I'm sorry».  Author: YERLAN ZHOLDASBEK. The idea of the work is to draw attention to the global problem of the disappearance of the Aral Sea, which is a vivid example of a person's irresponsible attitude to environmental problems. The consequences of the Aral disaster have long gone beyond the region. Before the eyes of only one generation of people, half of the sea disappeared from the face of the Earth. The dress is made of natural silk fabric. The author has given the product the effect of sun-scorched earth by treatment with special paints. The images of the wrists on the dress symbolize the hands of people trying to save a piece of still living sea.

On the rocks are preserved thousands of petroglyphs and images of mysterious deities, which are an important scientific source and have great artistic value. The dress is made of natural silk. By manual processing, the author gave the fabric the effect of sun burnt earth. Rock paintings on the product are made by hand embroidery.
