NEWS: 5 reasons to visit Astana Art Fest

The first is High Dolls. German theater DUNDU - the theater of giant holy puppets. Unlike a regular doll on ropes, a shapeless material without a puppeteer, the DUNDU puppets symbolize a common cause, a movement that is made possible by the concerted actions of the collective, like-minded people. Street show DUNDU, perhaps the best and most naive embodiment of the philosophy of the festival - co-evolution - we are getting better, moving and changing together. According to the authors, DUNDU are travelers in time and space. You can follow them: either, obeying the creative energy, rush to dreams in the future, or, giving up memory, go back to childhood when there were big trees and puppets.

5 причин посетить Astana Art Fest. Первая  - Высокие куклы. Немецкий театр DUNDU – театр гигантских святящихся марионеток. В отличие от обычной куклы на веревочках, бесформенного материала без кукловода, марионетки DUNDU символизируют общее дело, движение, которое становится возможным благодаря слаженным действиям коллектива, единомышленников. Уличное шоу DUNDU, пожалуй, лучшее и наиточнейшее воплощение философии фестиваля – ко-эволюция – мы становимся лучше, двигаясь и изменяясь вместе. По замыслу авторов, DUNDU – путешественники во времени и пространстве. Вы можете последовать за ними: либо, повинуясь творческой энергии, устремиться мечтами в будущее, либо, сдавшись памяти, вернуться в детство, когда большими были и деревья, и куклы.

Second - High meanings. We master the «high» metaphors of the Spanish art group Luzinterruptus. Luzinterruptus is an anonymous art group, positioning outside the states. They are so successfully concealed that everyone heard about their work, but the name of the collective is familiar only to connoisseurs of public art. Rivers from books, «weeds» of night lamps, thirsty drinking fountains - the group creates stunning imaginative art objects. This is a grabbing of attention, a way to attract people to actual problems, to give them an image, and hence life in our head. All installations of the group speak the language of light. The flicker of lamps like the Morse code: «We use light as an artistic medium, and darkness is our canvas».

Вторая - Высокие смыслы. Осваиваем «высокие» метафоры испанской арт-группы Luzinterruptus.  Luzinterruptus – это анонимная арт-группа, позиционирующая себя вне государств. Они так удачно скрываются, что об их работах слышали все, а вот название коллектива знакомо только ценителям public art. Реки из книг, «сорняки» ночных фонарей, изнывающие от жажды питьевые фонтаны – группа создает потрясающие воображение арт-объекты. Это захват внимания, способ привлечь людей к актуальным проблемам, дать им образ, а значит и жизнь в нашей голове. Все инсталляции группы говорят на языке света. Мерцание ламп как Азбука Морзе: «Мы используем свет как художественное средство, а темнота — наш холст».

The third is the Highest skill. The country's culture is permeated with the spirit of the steppe, the wind of wanderings, we are the descendants of nomads, we are the nomads themselves. Here is the next reason to visit the festival - a large-scale theatrical performance from the best directors (Andrey Eremin (Ukraine) and Galina Pianova (Kazakhstan).) This is a complex mix of the «spectator» theater, light and fire shows, amazing choreographic productions!
