Gorilla Winter Jungle 2023

On March 25, at the sunset of the Nauryz Fest celebration, the Shymbulak ski resort met thousands of guests, lovers of mountain recreation, who witnessed the main extreme show of this season called Gorilla Winter Jungle.

25 марта, на закате празднования Nauryz Fest, горнолыжный курорт Шымбулак, встретил тысячи гостей, любителей горного отдыха, именно они стали свидетелями главного экстремального шоу этого сезона под названием Gorilla Winter Jungle.

The highest mountain snow park in Central Asia - Gorilla Chimba Park, located at an altitude of 3200 meters, gathered more than 60 snowboarders and skiers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Poland. Brave beginners and crazy pros competed in the traditional disciplines of Big Air and Jibbing!

Cамый высокогорный сноупарк в Центральной Азии – Gorilla Chimba Park, расположенный на высоте 3200 метров, собрал более 60 сноубордистов и лыжников из Казахстана, Кыргызстана, России и Польши. Отважные новички и безбашенные профи соревновались в традиционных дисциплинах Big Airи Jibbing!

This year the event has reached a whole new level! The organizers presented an experimental show format THE BATTLE, in which the Gorilla Pro Team riders fought against young athletes who are promising in the world of snowboarding and skiing. Technique versus style, experience versus fearlessness! This show will remain in the memory of everyone who climbed the Talgar Pass on March 25 for a long time! В этом году мероприятие вышло на принципиально новый уровень! Организаторы представили экспериментальный шоу-формат THE BATTLE, в котором райдеры Gorilla Pro Team сразились против молодых спортсменов, подающих надежды в мире сноубординга и горных лыж. Техника против стиля, опыт против бесстрашия! Это шоу надолго останется в памяти всех, кто поднялся на Талгарский перевал 25 марта! А тем, кто не смог увидеть это в живую, доступна запись прямого эфира на Youtube-канале Gorilla On Air.

“Our main goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle and freestyle sports in Kazakhstan among the younger generation. From year to year, we try to bring something interesting and memorable for spectators and athletes! For us, the result is when we see new participants, a new level of tricks from local riders, and of course the smiles of the audience, who with their energy give tremendous support to athletes for new heights and achievements! We believe and really want our Kazakh athletes to show a worthy level at world competitions! For this we are doing Gorilla Winter Jungle for the sixth time and we are not going to stop!”, - Oleksandr Kuchura, the main organizer.

Из года в год, мы стараемся внести что-то интересное и запоминающиеся для зрителей и спортсменов! As in the well-known New Year's comedy, we decided not only to find out from the private owners of the competition how to win, but also to decide on the dilemma: "Who is cooler: a skier or a snowboarder."

Как в известной новогодней комедии, мы решили не только узнать у частников соревнований, как победить, но и определиться с дилеммой: «Кто круче: лыжник или сноубордист».

Adelina Sharipova, participant of the competition: “I have been in Kazakhstan since December 2022, I have already won prizes in similar competitions, mostly I took gold. I would give these competitions the highest rating, firstly, because the springboard is made perfectly. By the way, I participate on an equal footing with men, because this is a sport where there are no separate women's categories, you can beat the strong half if you are a pro. However, the male participants treat me very attentively, after all, the Kazakh mentality affects and it is very pleasant. I don't need any talismans to perform well personally, I think that you just need to train a lot to be confident in your abilities. If you choose between skiing and snowboarding, then I would recommend snowboarding, it is more fun.”

Аделина Шарипова, участница соревнований: «В Казахстане я нахожусь с декабря 2022 года, я уже занимала раньше призовые места в подобных соревнованиях, в основном брала золото. Этим соревнованиям я бы поставила самую высокую оценку, во-первых, потому, что трамплин сделан идеально. Кстати, я участвую на равных вместе с мужчинами, потому что это такой вид спорта, где нет отдельных женских категорий, можно выиграть и у сильной половины, если ты профи. Однако, мужчины – участники относятся ко мне очень внимательно, все-таки казахстанский менталитет сказывается и это очень приятно. Чтобы достойно выступить лично мне не нужны никакие талисманы, я считаю, что нужно просто много тренироваться, чтобы быть уверенной в своих силах. Если же выбирать между лыжами с сноубордом, то я бы посоветовала сноуборд, он более веселый».

Artem Afanasiev, participant from Kazakhstan, winner of previous competitions: “I am a four-time winner of the Big Air category of these competitions, once I was a silver medalist, but this year the best of the best have gathered here in Shymbulak. Gorilla Winter Jungle has been taking place in Kazakhstan for the 6th year, I don't miss it, this year has a completely new format "The Battle", which is very unusual. Since this year, the perception of these competitions has changed a lot for the spectators, and for the participants it has become much more interesting: a new level, harder tricks, more springboard, better organization and more participants from other countries. In order to win, I would advise you to acquire a stable base of tricks that you must perform confidently, accurately, stylishly and beautifully. If you choose between skiing and snowboarding, then I settled on skiing, they give more freedom and variety of tricks. Do not forget: before you start jumping, you need to learn how to ride confidently, only after that you can come to the park and start learning to jump. Everyone has their own pace of development, I myself have been skating for more than 20 years, jumping for more than 10. Of course, fear should always be present, because those who are not afraid do not live long. Always adequately assess your capabilities, your strengths.

Артем Афанасьев, участник от Казахстана, победитель предыдущих соревнований: «Я четырехкратный победитель категории Big Air этих соревнований, один раз был серебряным призером, но, в этом году здесь на Шымбулаке собрались лучшие из лучших. Gorilla Winter Jungle проходит в Казахстане уже 6-ой год, я не пропускаю, в этом году совершенно новый формат «The Battle», что очень необычно. С этого года представление об этих соревнованиях сильно изменилось и для зрителей, и для участников стало намного интереней: новый уровень, сложнее трюки, больше трамплин, лучше организация и больше участников из других старан. Для того, чтобы победить, я бы посоветовал обзавестись стабильной базой трюков, которые вы должны выполнять уверенно, аккуратно, стильно и красиво. Если же выбирать между лыжами и сноубордом, то я остановился на лыжах, они дают больше свободы и разнообразия трюков. Не забывайте: прежде чем начать прыгать, нужно научиться уверенно ездить, только после этого можно приезжать в парк и начинать обучение прыжкам. У каждого свой темп развития, я сам катаюсь больше 20 лет, прыгаю больше 10. Страх, конечно, должен присутствовать всегда, ведь те, кто не боятся, долго не живут. Всегда адекватнооценивайте свои возможности, свои силы».

The smallest participant in the competition does not drink energy drinks, but is already an accomplished athlete. Berezin Gleb is only 9 years old, but he confidently spoke about his descent: “I participate because I like it, I am not at all afraid, because I have been skating for 4 years, and jumping for 2 years already. When I'm in a jump, I'm relaxed and I really like the feeling of flying. I have already won in many competitions, for example, I went around the flags, descent through the water in swimsuits, and even won in Russia in the city of Ufa.

Самый маленький участник соревнований не пьет энергетики, но, уже состоявшийся спортсмен. Березину Глебу всего 9 лет, но, он уверенно рассказал о своем спуске: «Я участвую потому, что мне это нравится, мне совершенно не страшно, ведь я катаюсь уже 4 года, а прыгаю уже 2 года. Когда я в прыжке, я расслаблен и мне очень нравятся эти ощущения полета. Я уже выигрывал во многих соревнованиях, например, объезжал флажки, спуск по воде в купальниках и еще даже в России в городе Уфа побеждал».

Gorilla Winter Jungle 2023 once again pleased both the audience and the participants, who shared an unforgettable set of emotions, impressions and experiences. Probably, this creates the very unforgettable atmosphere for which everyone will meet again at Shymbulak in the next Jungle.

Gorilla Winter Jungle 2023 года в очередной раз порадовали как зрителей, так и участников, которые разделили между собой незабываемый комплекс эмоций, впечатлений и переживаний. Наверное, это и создает ту самую незабываемую атмосферу, ради которой все вновь встретятся на Шымбулаке в следующих Джунглях.
