Every year, during the Rétromobile salon (Porte de Versailles, Paris, France), Bonhams holds its prestigious "Les Grandes Marques du Monde" auction, featuring classic and collector cars, motorcycles, and automotive artifacts such as the Hartford Trophy from the Grand Prix de Provence (1925/27).

This auction highlights around 80 remarkable vehicles, some of which have participated in prestigious races and rallies. Notable models include the X-Raid BMW Mini John Cooper Works Buggy, winner of the 2021 Dakar Rally; the 1924 Chenard & Walcker T3 Sport Works 2.0L, which raced in the 24 Hours of Le Mans; the 1950 Ferrari 166MM Touring Barchetta, which finished fourth in the 1951 Mille Miglia; and the 1954-55 Ferrari Tipo 555 Super Squalo 2.5L Formula 1 car. Other highlights include the 1969 Matra MS 640 Continuation, driven by Henri Pescarolo in endurance races.

Others attract attention with their unique designs: the 1957 Avions Voisin Camionnette Plateau, a six-wheeled prototype; the 1929 Delage DM Skiff, featuring an all-wooden body reminiscent of a boat; and the 1966 Fiat 500 Giardiniera Jolly Beach Car, with wicker seats. Enthusiasts will also be delighted to find a Peugeot 403 Cabriolet, famously driven by Inspector Columbo.
