Kazakhstan hostes Astana Art Show

"Competitiveness in the modern world - competitiveness of cultures. If we want to be the nation with its own unique place on the global map of the XXI century, we must implement another project – "Modern Kazakhstani culture in a global world" - N. A. Nazarbayev.

The "old" center of Astana became the epicenter of contemporary art for one month. Astana Art Show kicks off on September 15^th. Astana Art Show is the main event of the International Biennial of Visual art of the modern Kazakhstan and includes three exhibitions.

The first theme of the event is "Metamorphosis". This project is devoted to the study of the inner state and feelings of the artists, their views on a wide range of issues, their stories about something personal, important events, and finally it is an attempt to make a photo on Polaroid 600, to record a milestone in the endless evolution of the artist, in his metamorphosis, and probably even a turning point in his creativity.

Its participants are the young artists of Kazakhstan, who have succeeded and become famous abroad. More than 20 participants will show their works that participated in major international exhibitions and were created intentionally for the show.

Among the participants of the exhibition is the famous Japanese photographer Ikura Kuwajima, the author of the famous series of self-portraits "I am Oblomov". Kazakhstani artist Aza Sadenova, who succeeded in London, will also show her works to the capital's art lovers. Astana residents and guests will enjoy a new art object on the facade of one of the buildings, created by a young artist Adil Aubekerov.

Paintings and installations will be displayed in the gallery TSE Art Destination and on the territory around it.

Along with the Metamorphosis, the exhibition "Reloading. Space optimization" will also take place and display the works of 13 young artists from the countries of Central Asia and Kazakhstan.

The third exhibition - The Ghost Expedition - is organized by the European Union. This project will present the results of research where a group of artists from Europe and Kazakhstan will conduct an expedition to Kazakhstan in search of sacred places.

The special guest of the event — a musician of the world level Benjamin Skepper (Melbourne, Australia) will perform at the opening of the Astana Art Show. Benjamin Skepper creates new experimental musical works, using contemporary technologies and scientific innovations in the context of art.

The event organizers are: the Ministry of culture and sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, RSE "National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan", the Management Office Rukhani Zhangyru, Artios Art Advisory.

The curators of the Astana Art Show are: Dina Baitasova, Asel Akhmetzhanova.

Curator of the exhibition "The Ghost Expedition" is: Anwar Musrepov.

Astana Art Show will take place from September 15^th to October 28^th in the gallery TSE Art Destination: Republic Ave., 33A. The entrance is free.

В Казахстане проходит Astana Art Show

«Конкурентоспособность в современном мире - конкурентоспособность культур. Если мы хотим быть нацией со своим неповторимым местом на глобальной карте XXI века, то мы должны реализовать еще один проект – «Современная казахстанская культура в глобальном мире» - Н. А. Назарбаев.

«Старый» центр Астаны на один месяц стал эпицентром современного искусства. 15 сентября здесь стартует Astana Art Show.

Astana Art Show является основным мероприятием Международного Биеннале Изобразительного искусства современного Казахстана, и включает в себя три выставки.

Первая тема мероприятия - «Metamorphosis». Это проект, посвященный исследованию внутреннего состояния и переживаний художников, взглядов на широкий круг вопросов, их рассказы о личном , о важных событиях, и, наконец, попытка сделать моментальную фотографию на Polaroid 600, чтобы зафиксировать веху в бесконечной эволюции художника, в его метаморфозе, и, вероятно, даже поворотный момент в творчестве.

Ее участники - молодые художники - казахстанцы, успешно реализовавшие себя и ставшие знаменитыми за рубежом.

Более 20 участников представили свои работы, как уже участвовавшие в крупных международных выставках, так и созданные специально для шоу.

В числе участников выставки известный японский фотографИкуру Куваджима, автор известной серии автопортретов «Я, Обломов». Также представит свои работу на суд столичных ценителей искусства успешно реализовавшаяся в Лондоне казахстанка Аза Шаденова. А молодой художник Адиль Аубекеров порадует астанчан и гостей города новым арт-объектом на фасаде одного из зданий.

Картины и инсталляции посетители смогут увидеть в галерее TSE Art Destination и на территории вокруг нее.

Наряду с Metamorphosis, пройдет выставка «Перезагрузка. Оптимизация пространства», в которой будет представлено творчество 13 молодых художников из стран Центральной Азии и Казахстана.

Третья выставка The Ghost Expedition организована Европейским союзом. В этом проекте будут представлены результаты исследований, в которых группа

художников из Европы и Казахстана проведут экспедицию в Казахстан в поисках сакральных мест.

Также в рамках проекта пройдут публичные лекции известных художников, мастер-классы и кураторские экскурсии.

На открытии Astana Art Show со своим перфомансом выступит специальный гость мероприятия — музыкант мирового уровня Benjamin Skepper (Мельбурн, Австралия). Benjamin Skepper создает новые экспериментальные музыкальные произведения, используя современные технологии и научные инновации в художественном контексте.
