The third Go Viral festival
From 14 to 16 June, the third annual festival of Go Viral gathered more than a thousand participants and more than a hundred speakers in Almaty.
С 14 по 16 июня третий ежегодный фестиваль Go Viral собрал более тысячи участников и более ста спикеров в Алматы.
The festival was traditionally devoted to the latest trends and innovations in the fields of media, culture, business and technology. The festival was opened on June 14 by US Ambassador to Kazakhstan William H. Moser, US Consul General in Almaty Eric Meyer, rector of the KBTU Kenzhebek Ibrashev and Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty Erlan Iskakov.
Фестиваль по традиции был посвящен последним тенденциям и инновациям в сферах медиа, культуры, бизнеса и технологий. Открыли фестиваль 14 июня Посол США в Казахстане Уильям Мозер, Генеральный Консул США в Алматы Эрик Майер, ректор КБТУ Кенжебек Ибрашев и Руководитель представительства МИД РК в Алматы Ерлан Искаков.
This year more than 1000 participants attended the festival. About 100 speakers from the USA and Central Asia spoke at it. Also, this year the Go Viral Ambassadors Contest was organized for the first time. 10 winners from 8 cities of Kazakhstan were invited to the festival as “ambassadors” of Go Viral.
Фестиваль в этом году посетили более 1000 участников. На нем выступили около 100 спикеров из США и Центральной Азии. Также, в этом году впервые был организован конкурс Амбассадоров Go Viral. 10 победителей из 8 городов Казахстана были приглашены на фестиваль в качестве «послов» Go Viral.
An important part of this year’s program was the “Startup Go” start-up competition announced before the festival. 10 finalists presented their projects before the jury on Sunday, June 16 and the same day, before the closing of the festival, the results were announced. The winner was the Avocado team with a mobile app that solves the problem of food waste. The 2nd place was given to the social project Sezual for the unique typhlo device, allowing blind people to navigate in space. 3rd place - at the developers of the mobile application turaQshare - the “Ministry of Parking”, which connects city drivers with owners of parking spaces. All these teams will receive “Packing startups”, that is, mentoring and advice on the implementation of their business projects.
Важной частью программы этого года стал конкурс стартапов "Startup Go", объявленный до начала фестиваля. 10 финалистов представили свои проекты перед жюри в воскресенье 16 июня и в тот же день, перед закрытием фестиваля, были объявлены результаты. Победителем стала команда Avocado с мобильным приложением, которое решает проблему пищевых отходов. 2 место получил социальный проект Sezual за уникальное тифлоустройство, позволяющее незрячим людям ориентироваться в пространстве. 3 место – у разработчиков мобильного приложения turaQshare – «министерства парковок», которое соединяет городских водителей с владельцами парковочных мест. Все эти команды получат «Упаковку стартапов», то есть менторство и консультации по реализации своих бизнес-проектов.
