The School of Jewelery (L’École des Arts Joailliers) with the support of Van Cleef & Arpels at 31 Rue Danielle Casanova, Paris, France hosted an exhibition - a personal choice of the collector Guy Ladrière. This is a very western vision of engraved stones, despite a brief digression into Egyptian antiquity. Like Yves Gastou, he entered this universe after being enchanted by the bishop's ring. The cameo craze even reached the United States in the 19th century during the "cameo fever" period.
