Beeline Kazakhstan launched the large-scale network upgrade. By the end of the year, the network capacity in Almaty and Shymkent will be increased by 3 and 4 times, respectively. In addition, access to 4G will receive residents of another 107 settlements, with the total population of one million inhabitants. Investments in network renewal amounted to 18 billion in 2019. After Beeline left the network sharing agreement with KCell, the company focused on self-development. The new equipment, which is installed at base stations, will significantly improve the quality of communication and, in the long term, will allow the quick transition to the 5G standard.

Beeline Казахстан запустил масштабную модернизацию сети. До конца года будет увеличена емкость сети в Алматы и Шымкенте – в 3 и 4 раза соответственно. Помимо этого, доступ к 4G получат жители еще 107 населенных пунктов, с общим населением один миллион жителей. Инвестиции в обновление сети составили 18 млрд в 2019 году. После выхода Beeline из соглашения с КСелл о совместном использовании сети компания сосредоточилась на самостоятельном развитии. Новое оборудование, которое ставится на базовых станциях, значительно улучшит качество связи и, в перспективе, позволит осуществить быстрый переход к стандарту 5G.

According to the international classification, it corresponds to 4,5G and this year Almaty residents will also be able to evaluate it. Speeds in MIMO 4x4 are several times higher than in traditional LTE. The next step will be the launch of Massive MIMO in 2020. This will allow us to get closer to the international standard 4,9G. And in the autumn of this year we will present 5G in Shymkent. It will be a pilot, on the basis of which we will calculate further investments in technology and its implementation strategy»,- comments Oleg Snimshchikov, technical director of Beeline Kazakhstan.

По международной классификации она соответствует 4,5G и в этом году ее смогут оценить и жители Алматы. Скорости в MIMO 4х4 в несколько раз выше, чем в традиционном LTE. Следующим шагом будет запуск в 2020 году Massive MIMO. Это позволит нам приблизиться к международному стандарту 4,9G. А уже осенью этого года мы представим 5G в Шымкенте. Это будет пилот, на основе которого мы рассчитаем дальнейшие инвестиции в технологию и стратегию ее внедрения» - комментирует Олег Снимщиков, технический директор Beeline Казахстан.

На период пилотного проекта на территории центральной части города Шымкент будут работать несколько базовых станций, предоставляющих сервисы в стандарте 5G. Оценить преимущества технологии можно будет в III квартале 2019 года. Ожидается, что на основе результатов пилота помимо Beeline Казахстан стратегию развития 5G будут формировать все компании группы VEON.

Today, communication from Beeline is available in more than 3,700 cities and towns of Kazakhstan. There are 95% of the population, 65% of which have access to the Internet standard 4G. The Beeline network was launched in 1999 and successfully operates, meeting all modern standards of communication.
