Shock! Collections that surprised us on Haute couture autumn-winter 2017

Written by Aliya Zhapakova

People like dolls and dolls as people, the collection represented by the duet Viktor & Rolf, perhaps, became the most shocking on Haute couture.

The models chosen by the fashion house appeared in front of the public with puppet heads: men, women, different types and races. Do you remember the hero of the comic film Frank performed by the hot Michael Fassbender? It was these Frankies who became the protagonists of the performance, played out by the brilliant Dutch. As the designers explained their choice, the variety of beauty is immense, not surprising, because the motto of the Fashion House: "There is not and can’t be anything impossible in fashion". The usual shocking was limited, the dresses themselves were executed in an elegant, feminine and comfortable style: hypertrophied bombers, down jackets in the form of dresses, as well as boiled jeans and shorts that promise to become the most popular items from the collection. The preferred color palette varied from blue, lilac to orange and khaki. Like the doll's head, the second pass of the models passed without any extra objects on the head, leaving only an accent on the lips.

The theme of the new collection of Maison Margiela Artisanal was a rethinking of the best assets of the old Hollywood. The legacy of the great Martin Margela in the modern processing of Galliano was the result of both an outrageous and elegant image, a girl in deconstructed trench coats and dresses with whole pieces of whitened hair and eyebrows, all this framed by gilded wet hair looks both loud and elegant. Imagine the cult dresses of the legends of cinema: Marilyn Monroe, Marlene Dietrich and Katharine Hepburn have a completely different view of the glamorous image. Like Kate Moss on top and Lauren Bacall from the bottom. It should be noted that the colors remained classic: sand, white and black. Surprised? John Galliano struck everyone, and how much the experiment was successful will become clear later.

Neocosmic theme from Iris Van Herpen completes our list of the most unusual collections, on Haute couture this season. A talented Dutch woman created her brand 10 years ago and is not tired of looking for more and more ways to process clothes, this time Van Herpen tried to visualize the harmony and intertwining of two natural elements: air and water. For this, gray and white shades of organza and stretch fabric with techniques like 3D printing and laser thread went into the course. Judging by the reaction of the public, the attempt is credited, and efforts and hours of painstaking work are rewarded. Who knows? Perhaps this is how the mankind will dress in 10 years, I apologize, the fashionable part of the population.
