Today our hero is designer Jarkyn Baimakhanov, who is a fashion designer by birth and education. He has come a long way from a college student to the designer of his own brand. About that, how easy is in this field, we talked to Jarkyn Baymahanov.

Why did you decide to become a fashion designer?

«I wanted to be a lawyer, but my parents sent me to the College of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T.K. Zhurgenov. Then I graduated from the academy, then graduate school. I started with the lower classes, after school I'll sew, tailor, worked as designer‘s assistant, and only then began to create my own collections. I certainly do not regret, but it has its pitfalls: expensive fabrics, sewing is also not cheap, permanent fashion shows - is also a financial investment. However, in my case I have put the soul. I am inspired by my clients have a favorite among them, some even became the face of the brand, the customers are all different, each has their own charisma »

Why black color prevails in your collections?

«Black is a budget, universal color, black can be on weekdays and holidays. I myself like all the colors, but in a fashion still have to be a commercial component, not only creativity. Your creation should still want to wear, and I'm trying to consumers. I like to keep my clothes were in a single item, we will not be repeated - this is our feature. Of course, I want to start a line of cheaper, mass-market, but I do not like to stamp. Even sweatshirts we did, all are different, no repeats».

Tell us about your atelier «Lady».

«I'm here together with co-founder Jamilya Gaparova, she invited me to work together, we have a very good, well-coordinated tandem. Together we choose the fabrics, colors, advise. When I'm getting ready for collection, the fabrics are purchased in Kazakhstan. Of course, I've been watching that make designers in Old and New World, I'm always impressed by such designers like Alexander McQueen, Rick Owens, Valentino. Our clients are mostly - women, men are also ordered, but not as active. I really want to do and the men's collection, and I myself - shoemaker without shoes. It so happens that I'll start to do something for myself, but then it waits, and do not reach the hands of clothes for yourself».

And where are you buying the clothes for yourself?

«I'm not fussy in clothing, like wearing our designers, foreign, I can in the usual mall to go to a mass-market brand boutique and buy clothing. But, I prefer shoes quality to spare, I can buy it in Stock. My favourite are Chelsea boots, sneakers. I love accessories: rings, earrings, bracelets, sunglasses, caps, scarves, I have a large collection of accessories at home».

Tell us about your plans for the near future.

«I plan to go with my collection at the Azerbaijan Fashion Week, I am already beginning to prepare. It is likely to be a fusion; in the collection may be men's images, unisex and female».

Where, in your opinion, the most stylish people live?

«Among our fashionistas there are those who are inspired, they have a special vision, her own style, but they are not so much. A man in Kazakhstan dressed neat, it is most important. Of course, those who are in fashion, show business, they wear very bright; can afford flashy outfits and ordinary office workers, not everyone can afford to put, for example, a silk shirt and a bright scarf. Therefore, I like Japanese Street Style, the rhythm of life in the Land of the Rising Sun, west and east is connected in this country, the people there are more liberated, able to reflect their inner world, to express their opinions through clothing, vernal appearance. In Kazakhstan, too brightly dressed man attracts the views of passers-by, is the condemnation of bystanders».

What do you think of the fashion industry of our country, what we lack?

«It seems to me that we need the right people, professionals, both in the western states, where there are fancy chambers, which includes respected in the fashion people. I hope that we will be the ones who will be able to select the designers that will no longer be such that someone creates a collection for the sake of a whim, and it is not the cause of his life. We have a very good educational base for fashion, I've studied it in Kazakhstan, compared with what is taught well-known foreign fashion universities, we are not worse than any knowledge that give our country a more versatile. That is, we have been taught, and how to make shoes, hats, accessories, women's clothing, men's, children's, and from the western colleges very narrowly focused specialists who know how to do something one».

Tell us about your participation in the TV show.

«I've been involved in television projects as a stylist for several years, worked on the «31 channel», «Khabar», «Astana», «Balapan». To some we sew costumes, to somebody choose and buy. This is interesting work with media persons, they are already stars, they have their own tastes, their own style and they are willing to change, but not dramatically. I find it easy to be a stylist, because I studied it, I see how to put on a person, to help friends by advices».

What should be in the basic wardrobe of the modern woman?

«The basic wardrobe must have at least five pairs of shoes per day and for celebrations. There should be formal trousers, a dozen blouses, jackets, jeans that fit you and sweaters. The dress has to be every woman and not one, and, of course, dress for the holiday. If we talk about the colors other than black, the basic version of the wardrobe there is a red and nude, ie solid, from dark beige to light pink».
